The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Lead/Engineering Manager to spearhead the development of our core products. This is a hands-on role where you will not only lead a team of talented engineers but also be a key contributor to our codebase and system architecture. You will be the technical authority for our web platform, balancing an agile, startup pace with the rigor required for building secure and reliable healthcare technology.

What You'll Do

• Technical Leadership & Mentorship
  : Lead, mentor, and grow a team of full-stack engineers. Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and ownership through code reviews, pairing sessions, and architectural guidance.
• Architecture & System Design
  : Architect and design scalable, secure, and resilient backend systems and microservices using Golang. Make critical decisions on technology stacks, libraries, and development patterns.
• Hands-On Development
  : Be an active contributor to the codebase. Develop robust, production-quality backend services and APIs in Golang, and build intuitive, responsive user interfaces using
• Product Collaboration
  : Partner closely with Product Managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate user needs and business requirements into technical solutions. Champion a product-first mindset within the engineering team, always asking "why" we are building something.
• Drive Best Practices:
  Establish and enforce best practices for software development, including CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, and DevOps processes.
• Health Tech Compliance:
  Ensure all technical solutions are built with security and data privacy at their core, adhering to industry standards (e.g., HIPAA).
• Ownership
  : Take end-to-end ownership of the development lifecycle—from ideation and design through to deployment and maintenance.

What We're Looking For

• Experience:
  7+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in a Technical Lead or Engineering Manager role for a Small Product Team.
• Backend Expertise:
  Strong proficiency and professional experience in Golang, including building and deploying microservices and RESTful/gRPC APIs in a production environment.
• Frontend Expertise:
  Strong proficiency and professional experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, specifically , along with TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Product Mindset:
  A proven ability to think from the user's perspective, understand business goals, and contribute to the product strategy beyond just writing code.
• Startup Mindset
  : You are adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable with ambiguity. You have a bias for action and are driven to ship products quickly without sacrificing quality.
• Communication
  : Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are essential for collaborating with a potentially distributed team and international stakeholders.
• Technical Foundations
  : Solid understanding of system design, data structures, algorithms, and database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
• Cloud & DevOps:
  Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and modern DevOps practices (Docker, Kafka, Kubernetes, CI/CD).

Bonus Points

• Direct experience working in the Health Tech industry and familiarity with standards like HIPAA or FHIR.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
• Contributions to open-source projects.
