    The Role:

    The Regional Advisor will represent the Irish university in Southeast Asia, with a focus on Vietnam and surrounding markets, and will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow international student enrolments.

    This role is pivotal in helping the university achieve its ambitious internationalisation and growth objectives as outlined in its Strategic Global Engagement Plan The postholder will be responsible for market planning, student recruitment activities, agent and partner management, and in-country support for prospective students.

    The role will also involve working closely with professional service units including, but not limited to; admissions, compliance, and marketing teams to ensure a seamless applicant experience and alignment with Irish higher education visa and immigration requirements.

    This is a front-facing, strategic and operational role that requires a results-oriented, self-driven professional who can engage with diverse stakeholders across the region while representing the university's values and brand.

    Reporting:

    The Regional Advisor will report directly to the International Recruitment Manager.

    Key responsibilities:

    Market Development & Strategy

    ·
    Design and implement a Southeast Asia recruitment strategy to deliver against the university's international student enrolment targets.

    ·      Identify new opportunities in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, and other emerging markets, based on data and market intelligence.

    ·      Work with local stakeholders to strengthen the university's presence and visibility in the region.

    Student Recruitment & Engagement

    ·      Attend recruitment fairs, school visits, and counselling sessions to promote the university's programmes.

    ·      Provide prospective students and parents with accurate information on academic programmes, scholarships, living in Ireland, and visa processes.

    ·      Conduct pre-departure briefings and offer-holder engagement events to improve offer-to-acceptance conversion.

    Agent & Partner Management

    ·
     Manage and expand the network of approved education agents across South East Asia, ensuring they are trained and updated on Irish education policies and university offerings.

    ·      Monitor agent performance and ensure ethical and compliant recruitment practices.

    ·      Maintain strong relationships with schools, counsellors, and alumni to strengthen referral pipelines.

    Admissions & Compliance Collaboration

    ·
    Liaise with the admissions team to resolve application queries and ensure timely processing of offers.

    ·      Ensure compliance with the Irish Immigration Service (ISD) requirements and responsible recruitment practices.

    Marketing & Events

    ·
     Collaborate with the marketing team to create region-specific campaigns highlighting the advantages of studying in Ireland.

    ·      Support promotional activities including scholarship announcements, webinars, and digital campaigns.

    ·      Organise and support agent training sessions, alumni events, and academic staff visits to the region.

    Data, Reporting & Budget

    ·
    Analyse market data and competitor trends to make evidence-based recommendations.

    ·      Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on applications, offers, conversions, and market feedback.

    ·      Manage and monitor regional budgets to ensure maximum ROI.

    Team Leadership & Collaboration

    ·      Work closely with global recruitment manager, other in-country regional advisors, and academic colleagues to ensure alignment with university-wide goals.

    ·      Plan travel schedules for self and visiting colleagues.


    Person Specification:

    Education:

    • Degree-level education (Master's preferred) from a recognised university, ideally with experience in international education.

    Experience:

    ·
     8+ years in international student recruitment, preferably for an Irish, UK, or other European higher education institution.

    ·      Proven experience managing agent networks and achieving student enrolment growth in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

    ·      Strong knowledge of Irish higher education, ISD guidelines, and global study trends.

    Skills & Competencies:

    ·
     Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a focus on building trust and long-term partnerships.

    ·      Strong presentation and communication skills, including experience delivering student-facing sessions.

    ·      Familiarity with CRM systems, application pipelines, and data reporting tools.

    ·      Creative problem-solving abilities and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.

    ·      Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver results within tight timelines.

    Other Requirements:

    ·
    Willingness to travel extensively (approx. 20 weeks annually) across Southeast Asia.

    ·      Ability to work evenings/weekends for events as required.

    ·      Valid passport and right to travel internationally, including visits to Ireland for training or familiarisation.

    ·      Fluency in English (additional knowledge of Vietnamese or regional languages a plus).
