BASF has been active in Vietnam since the establishment of its representative office in 1994 and celebrates its 30-year presence in the country this year.

BASF Vietnam Limited was set up in 2009.

The company maintains two sales offices in Hồ Chí Minh City and Hà Nội, offering solutions for Vietnam's key industries, including Agriculture, Construction, Automotive, Footwear, Paints & Coatings and Electrical & Electronics.

BASF's sales to customers in Vietnam were approximately €238 million in 2023. BASF employed 110 people in Vietnam as of the end of the year.


OBJECTIVES OF THE POSITION
Assume the responsibilities for Supply Chain Management (SCM) in ensuring the efficiency and smooth operations of A-PMA demand & supply in Vietnam (VN):

  • Work closely with regional planners to balance the supply and demand in a manner that achieves the financial and service objectives of the organization.
  • Take key responsibilities to manage for Merchandise (MER) Planning and A-PMA Vietnam SCM activities.
  • Act as a key representative from Performance Materials (PM) VN to interface with regional BU, local SCM, Sales and Local Business Management (LBM).
  • Interact and collaborate with Asia Pacific (AP) supply source on material allocation and shipment arrangements.
  • Drive and lead SCM new process/ process improvement across SBUs, sales and all stakeholders.
  • Strengthen and support business unit to achieve Supply Chain (SC) performance KPIs and manage SC process in the most competitive and costefficient way.
  • Perform the sales support scope efficiently and effectively.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACTIVITIES
Demand Planning / Management

  • Review and validate Advanced Planning and Optimization Demand Planning Forecast (APO DP FC) & Distribution demand with Sales, LBM to ensure high FC accuracy for Merchandise Stock (MES) planning.
  • Run APO Supply Network Planning (SNP) and perform MES planning on monthly basis in accordance with predefined planning calendar.
  • Review and monitor actual offtake, manage MES orders and inventory, samples and keep Sales team updated.
  • Attend to customers' enquiries on material availability check and SC matters.
  • Manage exceptional situation including supply shortage. Plan and work together with LBM, Sales, RBU SCM on allocation / prioritization.
Incoming MER Shipments Monitoring

  • Issue order, taking reorder levels/minimum order quantities (MOQ) into consideration; Monitor incoming shipment as Request Estimated Time of Arrival (RETA).
  • Maintain strong relationship and work closely with suppliers or regional planners to ensure ontime deliveries.
  • Work with site logistics/ service providers for Good Receipt (GR) schedule to fulfill customers' demand.
Inventory Management

  • Provide required input for inventory analysis, projection and target setting in timely manner.
  • Manage aged/dysfunctional stock, including the review of aged, obsolete/dysfunctional materials in regular interval, workout action plan and input into Health of Inventory (HOI), review the status on regular basis and ensure action plan in place.
  • Initiate and lead stock optimization includes redeployment, selloff and writeoff.
  • Maintain healthy safety stock/ optimum level to ensure smooth supply to customers and align with SCM KPIs.
Supply Chain Optimization/ Excellence

  • Drive optimization of SC in VN to be reliable yet cost efficient.
  • Initiate and drive SC excellence initiatives in VN.
  • Key contact to develop and support any projects in SCM and logistics solutions.
Master Data and SAP BAM Roles

  • Act as country contact point on master data request submission to master data team.
  • Update APO steering table.
  • Support to create credit profiles by approaching customers to get necessary documents and coordinating with sales team to input in the system.
  • Support to get the contracts signed and uploaded into system.
Return/NCM Management

  • Act as an investigator/ coordinator for logistics complaints.
  • Manage return process and settlement due to NCM.
Sales Support

  • Conduct customer data analysis and basic market research by phone screening, based on the provided questionnaires.
  • Assist to prepare or consolidate periodical reports and presentations.
  • Support sales events, internal and external meetings and workshops, and other Admin tasks.
  • Create pricing deal / sample request if any.
Others

  • Support any new investment: provide data (logistics cost information and knowledge for project development).
  • Participate and contrib
