The role & key responsibilities


The Events & Campus Safety Advisor, is a specialist role responsible for providing monitoring, supervision and advice on a range of complex environment, health and safety issues in all events and campus's facilities to identify, execute with appropriate controls EHS risks.

The role will have a broad understanding of risks in facilities, outdoor/indoor events.

Partnership with different stakeholders to ensure the sites/events compliance with RMIT Environmental, Health & Safety and risk control policies and procedures.

Lead, advise and influence others to enhance EHS mindset across all stakeholders.

Identify, eliminate and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and or property damage using job specific safety standards, best management practices.

The role will also be responsible for regular reporting on risk profiles, controls and compliance as required.

Key selection criteria- Bachelor degree in Health & Safey or engineering, with minimum 05-year experience in EHS related jobs Understanding of legal requirements and standards on Environment, Health & Safety. Demonstrated ability to diagnose, analyse, conceptualise and provide creative solutions to complex consultancies, projects and issues. Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships and relationships in a collaborative manner with key internal clients to support the University's business objectives. Proven capability to consult, interact and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated internal/external audit experience in EHS. Demonstrated experience in conducting EHS risk assessment across a range of complex activities. Well developed planning and time management skills in meeting deadlines and managing conflicting demands; Proven ability to develop clear and concise written communications including proposal, audit reports, procedures & policies
