Job Purpose

  • As part of the country level leadership team this role is primarily accountable for ensuring the deployment and execution of the AIR commercial & procurement strategy in country based on the strategic and tactical guidance from the Country Head of AIR. This individual will act as a coach and role model for all commercial departments and resources.
  • Primary responsibilities include the implementation and deployment of global/regional AIR commercial strategy/programs designed to deliver superior service and customer satisfaction within an operationally effective and efficient commercial/market representative model. Responsible for ensuring AIR pricing & quotation & procurement teams deliver adequate opportunity prioritization, pricing, routing and solution design (timely and quality wise) in alignment with BD and other customer facing / pricing departments. Accountable for ensuring country AIR pricing & quotation & procurement responsibilities realization (pricing input collection, adherence to standards and pricing instructions, rollup of bid input into country response, countrytocountry pricing, pricing campaigns, factorbased BC pricing; incl. setting up internal selling rates). This role is crucial to NR conversion and longer term profitability through the assurance of compliant procurement and local cost base negotiation with key contracts (schedules, rates). Liaises with local Head of AFR Product, Head of BD and Head of AIR procurement as part of managing the commercial risk taking process (e.g. local decision, regional, global escalation). Participates in regional and global projects ondemand and is responsible locally for identifying and executing optimizing network commercial and consolidation opportunities. Contributes to implementation of BD opportunities in country. Country level escalation point for all pricing & quotation related challenges.
Operational

  • Role of Pricing & quoting ensures country AIR Pricing & Quotation responsibilities realization:
  • Drives competitive pricing
  • Monitors compliance of country AIR to global pricing standards and makes necessary changes
  • Drives country decision making on risk taking
  • Executes pricing campaigns (e.g. seasonal offers)
  • Provides pricing for Sales growth on country level (including standard factorbased pricing methodology), supports and follows up with BD
  • Answers Global and region to region pricing requests, from breakdown of pricing instructions to rollup of pricing input and submitting
  • Executes country bid response, in particular qualification of bids received, formulation of bid strategy, gathering and checking of pricing inputs, consolidates country bid response
  • Designs adequate solutions for customers based on the input of Sales and takes pricing decisions
  • Interacts with customers in alignment with BD
  • Sets up the country AIR as per guidelines provided by Region / Global teams
  • Leads the AIR Pricing & Quotation Team
  • Selects and trains, and develops country AIR team
  • Manages AIR Desk, monitors output quality and makes needed changes
  • Translates AIR$ and commercial strategy into actions of local AIR and monitors' progress
  • Oversees, prioritizes and allocates incoming tasks
  • Proactively drives continuous process improvements to raise quality and shorten throughput times; discusses ideas with other country AIR leads, regional and global AIR lead
  • Acts as goto entity in country for special global projects (Commercial interaction)
  • Understands the CO2 efficiency of AIR transport emissions
  • Interacts with customers in alignment with Sales
Customer Service

Support Sales/Customer Service and Product Development as required with specific commercial / negotiation. Develop customer & business relationships and ensures that associated metrics and operational levels within the country operations are maintained - in conjunction with Procurement AIR

Administration

  • Manage Country operational cost base / optimization of all NR opportunities via closely controlled cost
People Management

  • Responsibility for management through direct reports of country procurement resources
  • Plan and implement appropriate resources (staffing, training, equipment, and systems) to ensure contractual compliance and delivery of quality services that allow for efficient & effective services to be delivered to customers. Oversee and manage the professional development and productivity of direct reports to ensure proper goals, training, professional development and project requirements are met
Financial Management

  • Oversee, lead, direct and manage the fiscal and overall procurement related tasks within country to ensure that growth and profitability goals and objectives are met
