Objectives of the Position

To provide technical assessment, development, design, testing, assessing and optimizing in support of engineering, project and production activities in municipal and solid waste management processes. Establish and maintain the knowledge base of engineering processes with a focus on municipal waste, treatment processes. Waste to Energy recovery technology knowledge advantageous.

Task and Responsibilities

Advise and direct the discipline engineering staff in concept, basic and detailed engineering design for Tialoc proposals and projects;
Advise and direct optimal design equipment and materials selection options for municipal waste treatment in both high temperature and ambient processes including pumps and conveyors, tanks, silos, hoppers, reactors, heat exchangers, filters, waste heat recovery equipment, measurement and analytical systems;
Support the business development and sales department in presenting process technology solutions to customers;
Lead, train and mentor engineering staff;
Consult with the technical team in requirements gathering, design, development, installation, testing and commissioning;
Provide leadership in the innovation and development of new technical solutions working with Tialoc staff and external parties;
Provide guidance and identification for safety and risk design requirements for municipal solid waste systems using best in practice guidelines, codes and standards in jurisdictions where Tialoc executes projects;
Participate in HAZOP, 3D model and similar reviews both internally and with clients

Education:

Working Experience:

At least years of related engineering experience in municipal solid waste process equipment including waste to energy, incineration and exhaust treatmentplant design
Customer focused and team player with strengths in the areas of team building, leadership, communication, staff development, performance management and mentoring
A strategic thinker who confidently solves highly complex problems
Proficient in writing and presenting proposals and technical reports
Excellent technical, organisational and project management skills
Excellent knowledge of international codes, standards and regulations
Good knowledge in Risk management

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

Experience in waste treatment processes especially in municipal solid waste management and waste to energy
Thorough knowledge in all engineering disciplines including process, civil, structural, mechanical, instrumentation & controls and materials
Experience in commissioning and performance testing
