Here is what you need to know about the job:

The Assistant Manager - Business Development GFS is to support the Manager in prospecting new clients and build a new business pipeline by networking, cold calling, or other means of generating interest from potential clients in the GFS field.

They must then plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with GFS. Developing a rapport with new clients is a key part of the job.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for developing strong customer freight pipelines and achieving the assigned sales targets for the Company.
  • Prospect for potential new clients for freight services and turn this into an increased profitable business.
  • To identify business opportunities, increase profitability and accelerate growth for the Company through the selling of integrated supply chain solutions focusing on international freight services (sea & air freight, customs clearance, and crossborder trucking).
  • Plan approaches and pitches. Work with internal teams to develop proposals and pricing the solution/service that speaks to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives. Align with the line manager and submit the proposal on time.
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating contract negotiation and getting advice from Corporate Legal, integrating contract requirements with business operations.
  • To increase the business community's awareness of the Company, particularly among prospective clients, by working with the management team to identify strategic business opportunities in freight services.
  • Being ahead of the market trend, he/she is required to design creative solutions to anticipate and exceed customer expectations.
  • To secure new businesses for the company as well as manage the existing pool of accounts to increase the share of wallets from these customers.
  • To manage customer relationships with the aim of improving customer satisfaction, account profitability, and customer retention
  • To lead and improve overall account performances through effective key performance indicators (KPIs) monitoring with the customers
  • Build strategic relationships with client stakeholders.
  • To work with counterparts from overseas for leads and opportunities.
  • Responsible for maximising synergy and overall profitability when developing strategies and proposals.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Superior from time to time.
