    Description

IFC has embarked on an ambitious new growth strategy (IFC 3.0) to stimulate more investment activity in emerging markets, including in low-income countries and fragile and conflict-affected situations.

This strategy calls for generating our own opportunities by proactively working "Upstream" to create, deepen, and expand markets and to imagine, design and implement investment projects and transformational transactions.

It requires taking a systematic approach to understanding the regulatory and sector bottlenecks that prevent the flow of private capital into productive investment in our member countries and addressing these bottlenecks through World Bank Group engagement on policy reforms and programmatic interventions at the country and sector level.

It also requires capacity to leverage World Bank Group programs and projects to develop our own proactive sector interventions and to imagine and design investment projects even in the absence of reforms.

IFC is seeking an Investment Analyst to support Upstream work in the Asia and Pacific region with a focus on the Manufacturing, Agribusiness and Services ("MAS") industry cluster.

The MAS Upstream team in Asia consists of c.

20 staff in regional offices working on the development of private-sector investment opportunities across areas such as Electric Vehicles and Sustainable Mobility, Decarbonisation, Hydrogen, Next-Generation Agriculture, Green Real Estate, Health and Education and other areas of growth and innovation within the MAS industries.

The Asia team is part of a broader MAS industry team in the region, as well as a Global MAS Upstream team with presence across all of the IFC's regions of operations.

The Upstream Analyst will support the development of high-quality Upstream pipeline through research, analytical and execution work.
