    Get to know the Team

    Grab VN Controllership team is a young, talented team responsible for the organization's good financial health. We regularly review the company's practices and make efforts to continually improve the accuracy and timeliness of Grab's financial statements. The VN Controllership team strives to build a working environment that is friendly, mutually supportive, and enabling of life - long learning atmosphere through regular work rotation.

    We consist of 8 members and cover multiple segments: Mobility, Deliveries, Grab Financial Group, Enterprise & New Initiatives, Country Support.

    Get to know the Role

    You will be part of the VN Controllership team supporting Mobility, Enterprise & New Initiative & Country Support.

    Key roles and responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions. As a Finance business partner, you will be expected to work very closely with the business to support business objectives, help management make key decisions and to continually ensure that its strategies align with financial goals. We believe a successful candidate has strong analytical skills, good communication and presentation skills, good business acumen, and ability to work independently in a start-up environment.

    The Day-to-Day Activities

    • Perform month-end closing activities, variance analysis for financial and management reports, and other ad-hoc analysis.
    • Monitoring on an overall basis to identify misstatements from AR/AP SSC or GL SSC team; Coordinate with local and SSC teams based in Malaysia to rectify mistakes.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Assisting SOX/ Internal/ External audits.
    • Ensuring the timeliness for local statutory audits.
    • Partnering with business and providing guidance on accounting impact and avenues to seek financial optimization (new product launches/ changes of products/ others)
    • Coordinating with the Regional CFO office and regularly reviewing financial statements to make sure that accounting operations are consistent with regional guidelines, consistent between countries; Flagging up any abnormal items.
    • Coordinating with the Regional Fins Ops team to maintain and set up automatic accounting flows, formulas to calculate withholding taxes, company's revenue after each ride, etc.
    • Engaging with SOX teams to ensure the compliance of various accounting-related controls.
    • Other ad-hoc tasks required by the managers (including but not limited to Helping to prepare SBV filings for long-term loans, quarterly tax memo input, etc.)

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
    • Advanced Excel skills and exposure to ERP/Accounting systems.
    • Financial mindset and able to translate business queries into financial analysis.
    • 5+ years of experience in financial/business analysis and supporting business teams.
    • Able to work independently and drive projects to completion.
    • Good communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong business acumen, strong team players.
    • Strong integrity and not afraid to raise concerns or highlight opportunities.
    • Initiative and analytical skills are mandatory.

    The Nice-to-Haves

    • Professional qualifications of ACCA or CPA Australia or ICAEW, Chief accountant qualification/ CPA VN qualification
    • 2 - 3 years of working experience in Big4 audit firms
    • Working experience in fast-paced environment/ industries such as FMCG, Retail, Fintech, or start-ups
