    Ontario Government Client is actively seeking a Software Developer. As a Software Developer, where is your expertise in Microsoft technologies and data analytics will drive impactful projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI, contributing to data extraction, transformation, and load processes vital for informed decision-making and governance.

    Note: The candidate is present on-site for three days each week.

    Must Haves:

  • Experience with Microsoft technologies: Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and Power BI.
  • Proficiency in developing data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) programs across various data repositories.
  • Ability to implement and maintain schedule/dependency logic for ETL scripts.
  • Experience in data integration, cleansing, analytics, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in database management, complex SQL queries, and performance tuning.
  • Skilled in creating technical documentation for ETL processes and data models. Criteria:
  • Core Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in Microsoft technologies and data modeling principles.
  • Experience in database management, SQL query construction, and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation creation for ETL processes and data models.
  • Other Technical Skills:
  • Ability to design visual dashboards and develop reports using Power BI.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like C# and scripting languages like PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of source control strategies using Git and understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Communications Skills:
  • Experience in eliciting, documenting, and validating business requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Standards and Best Practices:

    Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations.
