The selected individual will undertake the following responsibilities:
Identification and vetting of feasible projects.
Conducting prefeasibility and bankability assessments.
Developing partnership engagement plans, project-level financing strategies, and facilitating connections between project developers, investors, and technology providers.
Formulating investment plans and preparing requisite documentation for investors, such as tear sheets and information memoranda.
Leading the implementation of the investment component of the GTIP at the Vietnam Country Office, collaborating with the Vietnam Country Team.
Leading assessments of green investment opportunities by selecting viable project pipelines, crafting business cases, investment documentation, and analyzing project opportunities and the strengths and weaknesses of sponsors.
Preparing concept notes and analyzing existing and potential investment opportunities.
Assisting with pre-feasibility and bankability assessments for Sustainable Forest Management and Circular Economy initiatives with relevant stakeholders.
Supporting the implementation of the Partnership Plan and Technology Transfer in Vietnam by engaging with hosts and partners, organizing meetings, and facilitating fund matchmaking.
Developing a robust investment approach and conducting market sounding with potential investors.
Assisting in financing mobilization by facilitating investment negotiations and securing initial financial commitments.
Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with public and private sector counterparts, financial institutions, project developers, and government officials.
Engaging actively with donors for activity implementation and monitoring in Vietnam.
Coordinating closely with the GTIP Project Management Unit and team members across all three countries to ensure effective communication, monitoring, and program delivery.
Origination: Researching, preparing business cases, and drafting concept notes for new opportunities, interpreting term sheets, and collaborating with GTIP team members on investment documentation.
Project structuring: Utilizing specialized finance, business, or legal skills to identify and develop commercially viable projects in Sustainable Forest Management and Circular Economy sectors in Vietnam.
Coordination: Organizing analytical work to ensure timely delivery against milestones.
Stakeholder engagement: Identifying and engaging with relevant stakeholders from public and private sectors to align projects with Program objectives and national needs related to SMEs in focus sectors.
Ad-hoc assignments: Undertaking additional tasks in line with GGGI's mandate and Vietnam-related green investment targets.
Financing mobilization: Collaborating with GGGI colleagues to support resource and investment mobilization efforts.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced degree in international business, economics, finance, or related field, with further financial/economics training (e.g., Masters in finance, MBA, or equivalent), or in areas relevant to Sustainable Forest Management and Circular Economy.
Strong understanding of various financial products and instruments used in Vietnam's finance/investment sector, with direct experience being advantageous.
Preferably, at least 5 years of experience in sustainable finance and bankable project development.
Experience working with Investment banks, Private Equity, or multilaterals is desirable.
Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously and navigate complex environments effectively.
Experience with companies involved in Sustainable Forest Management and/or Circular Economy preferred; outstanding candidates with conventional investment backgrounds will also be considered.
Willingness and ability to travel.
Proficiency in English, both oral and written.
